Seeking Part Time Chief Pilot - 3 Days A Week
[Company] is a small, family owned, part 135 commuter operator seeking to fill a Part Time Chief Pilot position.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Chief Pilot will assist the Director of Operations with the safe and regulatory compliant conduct of a 135 Commuter and On-Demand operation. The CP will focus on providing qualified crew members to meet schedule demand while adhering to required duty and rest limitations. The CP has the authority to direct all operation functions and must be highly knowledgeable of the entire contents of the General Operations Manual, Operations Specifications, and Federal Aviation Regulations pertaining to the company operations. The CP should have operating knowledge of SMS Systems and ASAP Programs.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
FAA Airline Transport Pilot license
100 hours KA 200
Bachelor's in Aviation Administration or Similar
Knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office and Aviation Tracking Software
Be thoroughly familiar with pertinent FAA regulations for Part 135 and Part 91 flight operations
Requires a minimum of 4,000 hours of flight experience and 2,000 hours of pilot-in-command experience
Must stay current with federal and local flight regulations
Applicants must possess qualifications prescribed in 14 CFR 119.71
To serve as Chief Pilot under § 119.69(a) for a certificate holder conducting any operation for which the pilot in command is required to hold an airline transport pilot certificate a person must hold an airline transport pilot certificate with appropriate ratings and be qualified to serve as pilot in command in at least one aircraft used in the certificate holder's operation and:
• In the case of a person becoming a Chief Pilot for the first time ever: Candidate must have at least 3 years experience, within the past 6 years, as pilot in command of an aircraft operated under part 121 or part 135 of this chapter.
• In the case of a person with previous experience as a Chief Pilot; Candidate must have at least 3 years experience as pilot in command of an aircraft operated under part 121 or part 135 of this chapter.
Candidate must live within one hour of [Company]’s home base (KSFB)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain the company’s objective of providing safe and efficient air transportation in accordance with company policies, procedures, FAA, and other government agency regulations.
Lead & manage a small team of pilots, fostering a culture of safety, integrity & customer service.
Perform flight duties on qualified aircraft.
Organize and oversee pilot training and development, including scheduling initial and recurrent training per fleet policies and safety standards.
Verify that all crewmembers are compliant with Federal Aviation Regulations.
Be involved in interviewing, recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new pilots.
Maintain accurate reporting and record-keeping practices.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Prior Chief Pilot or Director of Operations in a Part 135 Operation preferred.
3 Years experience as Pilot in Command of a Part 121 or 135-operated aircraft.
Experience managing people in a clear, respectful, and responsive manner.
Ability to multi-task, collect and organize data, define problems, and provide required reporting in a timely manner.
Experience utilizing aviation software preferred, not required. Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Office.
Professional appearance, excellent phone demeanor, with ability to set priorities.
Must possess effective verbal and written communication, organization, and administrative skills.
Must possess the ability to be flexible and adapt to a dynamic and customer-centric environment.
Salary Target $60k to $80k (based on qualifications and required experience)
