Military Flight Operations Quality Assurance (MFOQA) is a program for the routine collection and analysis of flight data to provide more information about, and greater insight into, the total flight operations environment. Responsibilities include the review, analysis and occasional animation of flight and event data to identify, recommend and monitor corrective actions to enhance safety, training effectiveness, operational procedures, maintenance and engineering procedures, and air traffic control (ATC) procedures. Identifies adverse safety trends early and prevents accidents. Works closely with Boeing engineers to resolve aircraft issues on a regular basis.

Responsible for the safe planning and execution of each assigned flight in support of Part-135 and Part-91 charter and owner operations into large and small airfields throughout North America. Also ensured passenger comfort and satisfaction, as well as economical operation of the flight. Training Captain entrusted to mentor new PIC and SIC cadre pilots to safely operate the aircraft in demanding conditions.

Responsible for the safe planning and execution of each assigned flight in support of Part-135 and Part-91K fractional jet ownership and charter operations into large and small airfields throughout North America. Also ensured passenger comfort and satisfaction, as well as economical operation of the flight. Single pilot type rated and Red Jet Squadron Instructor Pilot, entrusted to guide and train our young SIC cadre and help our owner/pilot clients safely operate the aircraft with their families on board. Most qualified pilot in the squadron, with Lead Airdrop Examiner and NVG Instructor Pilot credentials. By name selection for combat airdrop/airland mission, opened the Northern Front in Iraq. Flew the aircraft to the edge of its envelope and trained enumerable crewmen to operate the aircraft safely in combat operations. Ensured 160-person squadron fulfilled all headquarters taskings and required training sorties effectively. Supported several Safety and Accident Investigation Boards with expert analysis and event recreation, resulted in expedited conclusions and recommendations for flight safety. Initial Cadre for both the 7th and 8th Airlift Squadrons. Took the opportunity of a clean slate, while performing flight commander duties, to reorganize the entire squadron to be more functionally aligned and streamlined. Continued Flight Operational Quality Assurance (FOQA) program development.

Headquarters staff action officer for C-141/Tu-154 mid-air collision, C-17 Keiko gear failure and several other Safety Investigation Boards (SIB). Briefed General Officers on a regular basis concerning safety related topics. Created and became champion of C-17 FOQA, a preemptive safety program utilizing vast databases populated by Standard Flight Data Recorder (SFDR) data.

Executed real world Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) directed classified missions to foreign countries from a 24/7 alert posture. Mission Commander/Special Operations Low-Level (SOLL II) Instructor Pilot for numerous multi-weapon system exercises. Managed nine SOLL II crews, as well as numerous Boat Drop and Communications platform crews. Controlled the daily operations of 10 mission planners, 9 communications specialists, 30+ Maintenance Special Operations (MASOP) personnel and 1 administration support personnel.

McDonnell Douglas F-4G "Wild Weasel" Keeper! OIC Propulsion Branch for 18 months during demanding conversion to "low smoke" engines and endured countless engine changes in support of foreign military sales of our F-4E's to Turkey. Efforts resulted in OUTSTANDING TAC ORI Rating. As Combat Systems Branch Chief oversaw the simultaneous conversion to the Weasel Attack Signal Processor (WASP) and the new ALQ-184 Electronic Jamming Pod. The Wild Weasel's improved mission success/survivability in DESERT STORM depended on these two new items. Next was nearly two years on the fast-paced flightline in the 562nd Aircraft Maintenance Unit (AMU). As the Assistant OIC directing the 100+ swing shifters, who made all the repairs and preparations for the next day's 20+ missions, we captured "AMU of the Year" honors twice.
