As a silo lead for Van Bortel Aircraft I currently directly oversee a section of pilots within our flight department, ensuring all flight operations are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule. I also act as a direct point of contact between flight crews and management. I conduct pilot checkrides and proficiency evaluations as a check airman, ensuring compliance with company standards and FAA regulations. I also help oversee the hiring process for new pilots.

As the assistant chief pilot of Van Bortel Aircraft, I helped the chief pilot restructure the flight department into a more streamlined process for the contractors we utilize. We developed a new website for trips to be bid on, extensively updated the company SOP's, added new benefits for the pilots such as a per diem, and I personally was in charge of the recruiting process for new pilots.
