Managed all aspects of the police department (collaborating with county law enforcement, village officials, and community leaders; managing the department budget; and other administrative functions) while also conducting road patrol duties and responding to calls for service in the village and managing criminal investigations.

Responded to all calls for service (emergency and non-emergency) within the city, completed full criminal investigations (including “detective-style” work), coordinated with county law enforcement and prosecutors, and local fire departments and emergency medical services, and assisted citizens.

Served as a road patrol Deputy responsible for law enforcement across large portions of the county during a given shift (including traffic enforcement and conducting criminal investigations), responded to emergency and non-emergency calls, assisted local police departments, and helped with court functions outside the court house (such as serving of civil process paperwork).

Patrolled the island by bicycle and on foot, enforced state laws and local ordinances, and handled incidents involving residents and tourists, working closely with state agencies during major events or investigations.

Assisted full-time officers with patrols, crowd control, and special events. Provided traffic direction, scene security, and community support functions, gaining exposure to municipal policing practices and public engagement.

Assisted sworn officers with patrol duties, traffic control, and enforcement of local ordinances during the island’s busy tourist season. Provided public assistance, crowd management, and logistical support during special events while gaining hands-on law enforcement experience in a unique environment.

Maintained safety and order throughout the park by patrolling designated areas, responding to disturbances, and assisting guests. Enforced park policies, collaborated with local law enforcement and medical personnel, and ensured a secure and enjoyable environment for visitors and staff.

Investigated employee theft, policy violations, and safety concerns through surveillance, interviews, and incident reporting. Worked closely with management and security leadership to prevent loss, enforce company standards, and maintain workplace integrity.
