As a Sightseeing Pilot, I operate aircraft on scenic tours low level between 1500-3000ft across the Los Angeles Downtown, Long Beach, Santa Monica and VFR special coastal routes. I ensure passenger safety, provide engaging narrated commentary, and strictly adhere to aviation regulations, creating memorable experiences for every guest. Key Duties & Responsibilities Flight Safety & Operations Conduct thorough pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight inspections. Calculate weight and balance, manage fuel loads, and monitor aircraft systems. Navigate safely using instruments and visual references. Passenger Safety & Comfort Deliver safety briefings and assist with boarding and disembarking. Ensure passengers feel secure and comfortable, especially those who are nervous or inexperienced. Narrated Tours Provide live, engaging commentary on local sights, landmarks, history, and geography. Regulations & Compliance Work closely with the business owner to comply with FAA regulations and company policies. Obtain and maintain required Letters of Authorization (LOA) for commercial air tours. Maintain accurate flight logs and promptly report maintenance issues or operational concerns. Emergency Management Maintain situational awareness to handle unexpected weather changes, mechanical issues, or emergency situations.

As a professional independent flight instructor, I provide comprehensive flight and ground instruction tailored to each student’s goals, experience level, and learning style. Operating outside the structure of a traditional flight school, I manage all aspects of instruction, including scheduling, curriculum development, and client coordination. Training is conducted in either my personally owned PA-28 or in client-owned aircraft. As a ferry pilot, I am responsible for safely transporting aircraft from one location to another, typically without passengers or cargo. These positioning flights include delivering newly purchased planes, relocating aircraft for maintenance, and return to service. Core Responsibilities Safe Aircraft Transport: Ensure aircraft are delivered safely to their destinations, including long-distance flights across the U.S., coast to coast and service to Central America. Delay & Reroute: Serve as Pilot-in-Command with full authority over flight safety, including decisions to delay or reroute due to weather or mechanical issues. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all flights comply with FAA regulations, including ferry permit requirements. Maintain accurate flight logs and reports, ensuring all required aircraft paperwork, including Special Flight Permits, is completed. Airworthiness Verification: Conduct thorough pre-flight inspections to confirm aircraft are in safe, airworthy condition. Key Duties Advanced Flight Planning: Act as my own dispatcher by selecting efficient routes, planning fuel stops, and navigating around terrain or restricted airspace. Weather Analysis: Interpret complex meteorological data across multiple climate regions to make critical go/no-go decisions. Mechanical Troubleshooting: Perform minor troubleshooting and address in-flight technical issues safely. Coordination & Logistics: Communicate with aircraft owners, brokers, maintenance teams, and Air Traffic Control throughout each mission.
