Personal Interests
Grew up in the NE. Father was a USAF pilot before I was born, airline pilot afterwards. Grew up in West Berlin, Germany for 7.5 yrs. Used to be fluent in German, now I do okay. Started flying gliders at 14 in W. Germany. Back for the last 2 yrs of H.S. in the U.S., went to Embry-Riddle in Daytona, offered a CFI job by the local Part 141 school if I transferred back to CT. Off I went. Part 135 Chief Pilot was the designated examiner - "we like you. You're doing well. Get your MEL and if you do well on the check ride you'll have a commuter MEL job once de-regulation kicks in." Heady stuff for someone who didn't have 100 hrs TT 4 months earlier. That was the start of 46+ years of professional flying. CFI, commuter, Part 91 corporate, commuter, commuter, USAF fighter pilot, American Airlines, GrandView Aviation (Part 135 charter with 17 jets) after retiring from American Airlines.
