While auditing multi-billion dollar companies, I had near constant communication with client management. At times, I was responsible for maintaining a positive relationship with the client as we worked through contentious transactions. On the financial side, I analyzed year-end trial balances, investigated material variances & ensured compliance with regulatory bodies. I also implemented programs to test the efficacy of internal controls while providing recommendations for improvements.

While the primary goal of the internship was to determine a proper fit, I also took ownership of parts of an audit. I performed walkthroughs of financial cycles with client management, conducted reviews of client documentation, and assisted with audit workpapers, gaining valuable insight into the job's responsibilities.

During my internship, I acted primarily as an accounts payable (AP) accountant. I orchestrated payments to funding sources, submitted checks for AP and coded for AP. I also completed monthly balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations. My final responsibility was reviewing lease application documents and approving them based on the metrics provided to me.
