Tyson Randall

I have been an aircraft mechanic specializing on electrical systems for 20 years. I started on the U-2 while I was on active duty in the Air Force. In 2017 I separated and switched to the reserves until 2023. Those years were a large change as I moved over to the KC-135 Stratotanker. It was a great experiance to work on something so much larger than the U-2. However, when I wasn't on duty for the reserves, the rest of the month I was still working the U-2 as a civilian contractor. In 2022 an opportunity opened up for me to move over to the T-38 trainer and I took it excitedly. As I've matured over the years I felt a different calling. One that wanted me at the controls instead of under the aircraft. I started my piloting journey in 2018 with the intention of it being a fun hobby. Quickly, I fell in love with flying and knew this was my calling. Between 2018-2026 I have become instrument-rated and hold a commercial certification. I am continuing my climb and will shortly gain my instructor rating. Still, flying every day/most days, excites me to the possibilities that only aviation can bring. I hope to join the ranks of professional pilots soon.
