Lucas Abed

Command an Army National Guard C-26E Metroliner flight detachment, managing daily flight operations, crew coordination, and maintenance phases to support executive transport and cargo missions across domestic and international airspace. Plan and execute domestic, international, and combat support missions as Pilot-in-Command (PIC). Deployed and commanded the Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA) C-26E Fixed-Wing Detachment. Piloted more than 500 combat hours as a Pilot-in-Command operating the C-26E.

Assisted in developing short and long-term training plans and operations orders to execute both Company and Battalion level air movement and air assault operations utilizing 20 UH-60M helicopters. Managed the execution of a joint Battalion level air assault operation with the 37th Infantry Brigade Combat Team.

Deployed to the Middle East in support of Operation Spartan Shield and Operation Inherent Resolve. Successfully scheduled and managed over 700 flight hours and 102 Air Mission Requests. Flew over 105 accident-free hours in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq, achieving Pilot-In-Command status in the UH-60M.

Completed Aviation Basic Officer Leadership Course (BOLC), Survival Evasion Resistance and Escape (SERE-C) school, and Initial Entry Rotary Wing (IERW) training with honors. Displayed technical and tactical proficiency in VFR/IFR operations, basic warfighting skills, emergency procedures, and mission planning.
