Personal Interests
I’m Andray Batungbacal, a San Diego-based Private Pilot and Instrument-Rated Pilot currently working toward my Commercial Pilot ratings in ASEL and AMEL, with the goal of completing both within the next 45 days. As a first-generation pilot, aviation is more than a career goal for me—it’s a passion I’m proud to share with my three sons, Andy, Anthony, and Adam. Some of my favorite memories are made flying with them, introducing them to aviation and hopefully inspiring them to become professional pilots someday. I am actively flying and building hours every week, continuously expanding my experience and sharpening my skills. I currently have: 800+ Hours Total Time • 500+ Hours Cross-Country PIC • 100+ Hours Night • 30+ Hours Actual IFR • 100+ Hours Simulated Instrument As a pilot based in Southern California, I have gained extensive experience operating within some of the nation’s busiest and most complex airspace. I am highly familiar and proficient with Southern California airspace and ATC operations, including navigating busy Class B, C, and D environments, communicating with ATC, obtaining flight following and IFR clearances, and managing high-density traffic while maintaining strong situational awareness. My instrument experience has also given me a strong foundation in IFR operations and long-distance cross-country IFR flying, including instrument procedures, IFR flight planning, weather evaluation, navigation, approaches, and aeronautical decision-making. I continue to build practical IFR experience whenever conditions and opportunities allow. As I continue progressing professionally, one of my immediate career goals is to fly single-engine turboprop aircraft, particularly the Cessna 208B Grand Caravan or Daher Kodiak. I’m seeking an opportunity where I can bring my current experience and work ethic to an operation while gaining valuable turbine experience and continuing to develop as a safe, dependable, and professional pilot. My favorite aircraft is the Cessna 182T Skylane, which has become a special part of my aviation journey and strengthened my appreciation for capable and versatile aircraft. Ultimately, my goal is to build a successful professional flying career while setting an example for my sons and inspiring them to pursue their own dreams in aviation. First-generation pilot. Father of three. 800+ flight hours and counting. Building experience every week and working toward the turboprop cockpit. ✈️
