Role Description
The Aerial Survey Pilot – Northeast U.S. is a full-time, on-site role based in the DE / Southern PA area with regular deployments to project locations in the Northeast. This role is responsible for safely operating survey aircraft on planned missions, adhering to FAA regulations, and following company flight procedures. Day-to-day tasks include pre-flight planning, weather and route analysis, ATC coordination and coordination with survey and ground teams, and accurate execution of aerial survey flight lines. The pilot will monitor onboard survey equipment, maintain clear communication with operations staff, complete post-flight reports, and assist with basic aircraft care and readiness. The position may involve variable schedules, extended days in the field, and travel to multiple sites depending on project needs.
What you'll do:
Fly precision aerial survey missions (LiDAR/photogrammetry) on fixed flight-line patterns
Coordinate pre-flight planning with survey/mapping teams to optimize routes and coverage
Coordinate with ATC for any operations in controlled airspace
Perform pre- and post-flight aircraft inspections and maintain flight logs
Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and company safety protocols
Report to the Director of Operations regarding all flight operations
Travel regionally as project locations require
