Department: Pilot
Location: Scottsdale
Compensation: $190,000 - $220,000 / year
Description We are seeking an experienced Captain to join our Citation X+ at [Company].
This is not a low-utilization seat. This aircraft operates in a true 135/91 hybrid environment and flies consistently—supporting both owner missions and steady charter demand. The role is best suited for a pilot who understands how a high-performing aircraft operates and values consistency in both flying and compensation.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants a unique seasonal lifestyle—spending winters in Scottsdale (SDL) from November through May, and summers in Driggs, Idaho (DIJ) from June through October. The owner provides $1,500/month for camper hookups, covers travel to and from Scottsdale on your days off, and offers condo access in Driggs for short stays.
This Citation X+ has recently completed a full modernization, including new paint, redesigned interior, upgraded galley, and Starlink connectivity. It is one of the most well-equipped X+ aircraft flying today—built to perform at a high level operationally while delivering a premium client experience.
The Captain is responsible for the safe and prudent operation of the aircraft, but also for how that operation is executed. This is a hands-on, real-world Part 135 environment. You are expected to manage flight planning, weather and risk assessment, and coordinate closely with dispatch and maintenance—while maintaining sound judgment and professionalism in a dynamic schedule.
From a business standpoint, this aircraft has been operating at a high level of utilization over the past two years. That consistency is intentional. In Part 135, stable compensation and operational investment are directly tied to how effectively the aircraft is flown. This role benefits from that structure—offering steady flying, funded training, and a compensation model supported by actual aircraft performance.
We are looking for a Captain who understands the difference between simulator precision and real-world execution. The Citation X+ is a high-performance aircraft, and expectations are centered on smooth, controlled, and professional operation. Prior PIC turbine experience is required; Citation X/X+ experience is strongly preferred.
This is a visible seat with a high-performing account. It requires accountability, consistency, and the ability to operate without heavy oversight.
The SDL/DIJ split-base model is a meaningful advantage for the right pilot, particularly those who value seasonal movement and flexibility. For others, especially with fixed home-base or family constraints, it should be considered carefully.
If you are a team-oriented pilot who seeks excellence in execution, understands the realities of Part 135 flying, and wants to be part of an operation that is both active and financially grounded, this may be the right fit.
What you'll be doing:
Reviewing the maintenance status of the aircraft to ensure airworthiness.
Conducting proper pre-flight inspection in accordance with the approved Aircraft Flight Manual.
Completing check of weather and facilities along the route to be flown and airports to be used, including alternate airports.
Ensuring the flight is conducted in accordance with the policies and procedures of [Company] and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
Ensuring the safety of all passengers, aircraft, and crew.
Accurately completing all trip paperwork in accordance with current procedures.
To do well in this role, you'll need:
Total time in all aircraft = 3500 hours/3000 hours as PIC.
Multi-engine time = 3000 hours/2000 hours as PIC.
Total Turbine time = 1750 hours preferred.
Total time in airplane type = 200 hours/100 hours as PIC.
Type rated on CE-750. Or comparable aircraft.
Valid First Class Medical Certificate. This is required.
Previous Part 135 experience. This is preferred, but not required.
Compliant with ICAO Annex I - 2.1.1.0. As it pertains to aircraft engaged in international commercial air transport operations with more than one pilot.
CANPASS authorization. You'll need the ability to obtain and maintain CANPASS authorization for unrestricted travel to/from Canada as a commercial pilot.
Strong customer service skills. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) will need to be demonstrated with all levels of employees and clients. Communication must always be delivered with a superior level of professionalism.
High level of detail. You'll need to be highly organized with the ability to thrive in changing environments and the flexibility for frequently changing priorities.
Excellent time management skills. You'll need to be able to work on an on-call basis, with the ability to work well under pressure and to multi-task. [Company] is a 24/7 organization, so this role requires a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and Holidays.
