The Aircraft Flight Instructor I is responsible for delivering high‑quality flight, simulator, and ground instruction in accordance with [Company] Oxford Aviation Academy training standards, safety standards, and applicable aviation authority regulations. The instructor ensures students meet course standards, training requirements, and learning objectives while promoting professionalism, safety, and disciplined airmanship through “teaching by example.”
Key Responsibilities include:
Deliver flight, simulator, and ground instruction in compliance with training, safety, and quality standards.
Monitor, plan, and guide students to ensure satisfactory progress and proactively address delays or performance concerns.
Promote safe behavior at all times and ensure students fully understand and follow SMS (Safety Management System) requirements.
Complete all student and flight‑related administrative tasks, records, and exam planning accurately and on time.
Serve as a professional role model demonstrating disciplined and safe behavior.
Monitor aircraft status and cleanliness and report discrepancies.
Attend administrative, standardization, and instructor development meetings and in‑service training.
Participate in open days and trade shows when assigned.
Identify and initiate improvements to enhance instructional quality, safety, and training standards.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum 1–2 years of related experience.
Current Commercial Pilot License.
Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) and CFII.
Second Class Medical with commercial privileges.
No aircraft accident or aviation violation convictions.
100 hours of dual given.
250 hour of PIC.
Ability to work effectively in a highly structured environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Proficiency with MS Word and MS Outlook.
Fluency in English
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s degree or college degree.
Multi‑Engine Instructor (MEI) rating.
Fluency in Japanese.
Additional instructor qualifications.
Previous experience as a trainer or teacher.
Experience teaching foreign‑language students.
Team‑oriented and results‑driven mindset.
Physical Requirements
Constantly ascends or descends ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles.
Constantly moves in different positions, including tight and confined spaces.
Occasionally remains stationary (standing or sitting).
Occasionally moves about to accomplish tasks or relocate.
Occasionally adjusts or moves objects up to 25 pounds.
Constantly repeats motions involving wrists, hands, and fingers.
