Kuspuk School District is Hiring a Pilot!
We are looking for a skilled pilot to join our team in Aniak, Alaska.
Our fleet includes a Cessna 182, Cessna 207, and a Piper Navajo.
This position supports district operations through supply distribution, student and staff travel, and emergency response.
We are actively seeking someone who will live in the district during the school year.
Our preference is a pilot who becomes part of our communities, understands our region, and works as a key member of our operations. We may consider other arrangements depending on experience, but in-district presence is the priority. Subsidized district housing options are available.
Our Fleet Includes: Cessna 182, Cessna 207, & Piper Navajo
Operates the District’s aircrafts for district business, student programs, community engagement, & emergency needs
Ensures aircrafts are air worthy & safe prior to departure. Performs full pre-flight inspection, fuel management, icing mitigation, load planning, passenger briefing, & accurate log entries
Immediately reports damage, maintenance concerns, unusual aircraft performance, or safety hazards
Follows weather & risk-assessment protocols. Makes go/no-go decisions based on pilot-in-command judgment & district safety practices
Maintains accurate records of flights, maintenance, & compliance items in accordance with FAA standards & district policy
Receives & delivers supplies, parts, equipment, & mail between district sites. Must be able to handle physical loading & unloading
Participates in training events
Handles confidential materials professionally
Performs other duties as assigned
High school diploma or GED
FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate
Instrument & Multi-Engine Rating
Current second-class medical required. First-class preferred
Minimum 1000 hours Alaska flying experience preferred or experience flying in remote & arctic environments
Location: Aniak, AK
Reports to: Maintenance & Facilities Director
Salary: $80,000 – $95,524.18 DOE
12 month salaried position
District housing available. Monthly rent applies per board policy.
