Purpose of Position
Executive Jet Management, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is looking to hire an Aviation Safety Summer Intern to work at our Headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio. This paid 10-week internship will start June 7, 2027, and run through August 13, 2027. EJM offers a flexible schedule conducive to a students' schedule with encouraged participation in company events throughout the Summer. 35-40 hours per week will be expected of each intern. A complete application and resume must be submitted to be considered. Preference will be given to local students in the Cincinnati area.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Maintain the integrity of confidential safety records, databases, and reporting systems.
- Contribute to EJM’s safety promotion and employee engagement initiatives through the development and distribution of safety communications, newsletters, and safety promotion materials to EJM’s crew and non-crew audiences.
- Assist with the administration of the EJM’s Safety Management System (SMS) and Continuous Improvement programs.
- Support the investigation, organization, documentation, and analysis of safety reports, events, incidents, and operational data to help develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to organizational safety objectives.
- Assist with reviewing SMS risk assessments to ensure appropriate measures are established and actions/procedures are documented.
- Support the preparation of presentations, reports, and metrics for safety meetings and leadership reviews.
- Participate in safety committee meetings and document key findings and action items.
- Research/monitor industry safety-based initiatives, regulatory updates, and emerging operational/environmental trends and assist with making recommendations for compliance or improvement, when applicable.
- Assist with monitoring corrective and/or preventive actions to ensure compliance or timely completion of new initiatives.
- Collaborate with EJM Flight Operations, Maintenance, Flight Support, and Training to support safety initiatives.
- Perform special projects and other duties related to aviation safety and operational excellence as assigned.
