The Captain is responsible for the safe, efficient, and expeditious operation of all company aircraft. The Captain conducts preflight inspections; researches departure, en route, and destination weather for suitability to the intended operation; performs aircraft weight and balance computations and performance calculations; and determines whether all are within manufacturer limitations, applicable regulations, and company policies.
The Captain files flight plans for all flights and ensures all required aircraft and passenger forms are completed and applicable filing and notification requirements are met. The Captain has a limited supervisory role over other flight crew operating similar makes and models and may be qualified in multiple company aircraft. The Captain may also serve as a mentor within the flight department.
Essential Functions
Completes all flight assignments in a safe, cost-effective manner, with emphasis on passenger safety and comfort
Serves as the on-site company representative, working in cooperation with company maintenance personnel with contract maintenance facilities for unplanned maintenance events
Conducts mission briefings and debriefings with other crew members assigned to the flight
Maintains effective crew coordination
Coordinates all flight-related forms and submits them upon completion of the mission
Informs maintenance technicians about any mechanical irregularities noted during the flight and records discrepancies on the appropriate documents
Attends recurrent aircraft training at least annually
Maintains an up-to-date understanding of and complies with the aircraft manufacturer’s checklists and associated documentation
Understands and remains current on information related to flight safety, included but not limited to, NOTAMS (Notice to Air Missions), applicable weather for all phases of flight, aircraft performance at all altitudes, runway analysis, and risk mitigation.
Provides excellence customer service for passengers
Required Qualifications
4,000 hours total time, including:
At least 1,000 hours Pilot-In Command
At least 1,000 hours multi-engine experience
At least 1,000 hours experience in turbojet fixed wing aircraft
Proficient in the use of Electronic Flight Instrument Systems and Flight Management Systems
Current CL-30 type rating
Working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations and the Airmen Information Manual
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Commercial Pilot License with applicable fixed-wing, instrument, multi-engine, and ATP privileges/qualifications required upon hire
Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position
Bachelors degree in Aviation
Previous corporate aviation management experience.
International operating experience and training within the past 24 months
