Job Summary
The Sr Captain is responsible for the safe, efficient and expeditious operation of all company aircraft. The Sr Captain conducts preflight inspections, researches departure, en routes, and destination weather for suitability to the intended operation, performs aircraft weight and balance computations and performance calculations and determines whether all are within manufacturers’ limitations, certificating authorities’ regulations, and company policies. Files flight plans for all flights and ensures that all aircraft and passenger forms are completed and all filing and notification requirements are met for flights. Limited supervisory role of other flight crew in similar makes and models and may be qualified in multiple company aircraft. The Sr Captain may also have a role as mentor within the flight department.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Completes all flight assignments in a safe, cost-effective manner with emphasis on passenger safety and comfort
Serves as the on-site company representative working in cooperation with company maintenance personnel with contract maintenance facilities for unplanned maintenance events
Conducts mission briefings and debriefings with other crewmembers assigned to the flight
Maintains effective crew coordination
Executes all flight-related forms and submits them upon completion of the mission.
Informs maintenance technicians about any mechanical irregularities noted during the flight and documents discrepancies on the appropriate documents
Attends recurrent aircraft training at least once annually
Keeps up-to-date understand and comply with the aircraft manufacturer’s checklists and associated documentation
Understands all information related to safety of flight included but not limited to NOTAMS (Notice to Air Missions), applicable weather for all phasaes of flight, aircraft performance at all altitudes, runway analysis, mitigating risk, and excellence in customer service for passengers
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications for Position
Have a working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations and the Airmen Information Manual
4,000 hours total time with at least 1,500 hours Pilot-In Command with at least 1,000 hours multi-engine experience, with at least 1,000 hours experience in turbojet fixed wing aircraft Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Fixed wing commercial license with instrument privileges (Sr. Captain and Captain must have a fixed wing, multi-engine, ATP)
Proficient in the use of Electronic Flight Instrument Systems and Flight Management Systems
Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications for Position
Previous corporate aviation management experience
Bachelors degree in Aviation
International operating experience and training within twenty-four months
Twelve-month current CL-30 type rating.
Must be a Airline Transport Pilot
