We are seeking an experienced and qualified Director of Operations (DO) to lead our flight operations and evolve the ongoing viability and compliance of our Part 135 operation. We are seeking a Director of Operations who is preferably located in or near Kissimmee, FL, where our planes are based. Note the position is not exclusive to that location and will consider candidates who are located in the Northeast.
Key Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain company flight operations and regulatory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure the highest levels of safety, security, and efficiency.
Effectively manage flight operational personnel, including crew, within the organizational structure defined by the company.
Exercise authority and provide supervision over all aspects of flight operations, with a strong emphasis on safety, security, and efficiency.
Lead the onboarding and discharge of operations personnel and crew, ensuring their qualifications align with the company's standards.
Foster close collaboration with the Director of Maintenance to coordinate and optimize operational activities.
Stay informed about changes in aviation laws, regulations, and industry practices, promptly communicating pertinent information to the appropriate personnel within the company.
Ensure consistent and timely reporting, follow-up, and maintain positive relationships with relevant government agencies.
Keep the General Operations Manual (GOM) up-to-date and readily accessible to the FAA and management personnel upon request.
Provide daily oversight of all flight operations, delegating responsibilities when necessary to the appropriate personnel or department.
Maintain a strong focus on safety, promptly communicating any changes that may impact safety and collaborating with the safety department when management interventions are required.
Ensure compliance with all national and international regulations and FAA provisions by implementing and upholding flight operational standards and practices.
Basic Qualifications:
Extensive experience suitable for FAA approval as a Director of Operations under Part 135 regulations.
Previous management experience in a FAR Part 135 environment is highly preferred.
Hold an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with applicable type ratings (HS-125 preferred).
Possess a current FAA First Class Medical certificate.
Maintain a current and valid passport.
Specific Skills:
Proficient knowledge of the GOM, FAA regulations, operational specifications, flight manuals and laws, and other pertinent information related to your duty.
Excellent written/verbal skills, but more importantly, interpersonal skills that can translate immediately to our company culture of accepting open and honest communication in an inclusive manner.
Strong computer skills, eg. learning new software quickly.
