[redacted] is an aeromedical charity whose mission is to save lives, speed recovery and serve the community. Established in 1986, [redacted] provides the highest standard of pre-hospital critical care to our patients. [redacted]’s medical teams use helicopters, turbo-props, jet aircraft and patient transport vehicles to reach patients as quickly as possible.
Our critical care doctors, paramedics and nurses are specially trained in pre-hospital and transport medicine. They care for severely injured people who need emergency treatment at the scene of an accident. They also look after seriously ill people who need to be moved between hospitals or specialist care. [redacted] cares for over 7,000 patients every year.
[redacted] provides a Patient Transport Service (PTS) coordinated by NSW Health. We operate three dedicated air ambulances from bases at Bankstown Airport in Sydney and Williamtown Airport in Newcastle to transport patients needing specialist care in the state’s northern and north-western regional areas, to and from major hospitals in Sydney and Newcastle.
[redacted] also operates a fleet of specially equipped patient transport vehicles staffed by a driver and a specialist nurse to move patients between hospitals and our aircraft. Additional vehicles and crews are also located in Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour, Tamworth and Armidale to support those major centres and surrounding communities.
