Part 91 Citation CJ3 Pilot
Location: Columbus, Ohio (relocation assistance & temporary housing available)
Start Date: Early June 2025 (1–2 weeks before CJ3 delivery on June 16, 2025)
Be the trusted right hand (and co-pilot) to the owner of a proud supplier of premium mulch, soil, stone, hardscapes, fencing and more. You’ll operate their brand-new Citation CJ3 under Part 91, logging about 250 hours a year on curated corporate flights—think Midwest cornfields one day and Florida sunshine the next. If you love precision flying as much as you love a perfectly spread mulch bed, this role is for you.
Safely pilot and manage all phases of Citation CJ3 flights under Part 91 for the company’s owner and guest list
Plan and execute flight missions: route planning, weight & balance, fuel stops, and coordination with FBOs
Conduct thorough pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight inspections and recordkeeping in line with FAA and company standards
Tailor each trip for VIP comfort—coordinate catering, ground transport, and any in-flight requests
Maintain open, professional communication with the owner’s office, ground teams, and ATC to ensure seamless departures and arrivals
Embrace our safety-first culture: participate in regular CRM training, safety briefings, and recurrent checks
Type Rating: CE-525s type rating (preferred)
If unrated, complete our three-week CJ3 type rating course (company-covered, $42,000 value) with an 18-month commitment
Experience:
Total Flight Time 1,200+ hours
Multi-Engine Land Time 500+ hours
Instrument Flight Time 75+ hours
Night Flight Time 100+ hours
Proven excellence in corporate or owner-operator flying environments
Certifications & Compliance:
FAA commercial pilot certificate with instrument rating
Current Class 2 (or above) medical certificate
Clean FAA record—no recent incidents or enforcement actions
Soft Skills:
Discretion, courtesy, and impeccable professionalism around senior leadership
Strong decision-making, situational awareness, and “bottom-line” mindset
Willingness to relocate to Columbus, OH
Contract: 1099 independent contractor
Base Pay: Starting at $160,000 annualized
Training: Company-sponsored CJ3 type rating course, plus recurrent training support
