Role Summary
The Inflight Training Specialist supports the development, delivery, and evaluation of inflight training programs at [Company]. As an individual contributor, this role makes recommendations to improve team processes related to training logistics, regulatory adherence, curriculum development, and records management. With general direction from leadership, the Inflight Training Specialist exercises judgment within established standards, executes within defined frameworks, and provides recommendations to improve instructional quality, training logistics, and regulatory compliance.
Key Duties
Take initiative to develop solutions to complex tasks, optimize training schedules, coordinate class logistics, and maintain regulatory compliance across multiple training formats.
Make recommendations on team processes related to training delivery, training equipment, curriculum development, and records management to enhance efficiency and compliance.
Apply industry methodologies and professional concepts in adult learning and regulatory training to support the development and delivery of inflight training programs.
Apply working knowledge of instructional design, inflight training programs, FAA training requirements, and training systems to support regulatory compliance and alignment with [Company] standards.
Contribute to the design, development, and delivery of instructorâled and computerâbased training to meet regulatory and operational needs, with general direction from leadership.
Support instructors and trainers through collaboration, coâfacilitation, mentoring, and ongoing feedback to promote engaging and compliant training delivery.
Execute audit of training courses, records, and personnel to support regulatory compliance and instructional consistency.
Handle the management of training schedules, coordinate logistics, and support instructor assignments in alignment with FAA and company standards.
Train and deliver curriculum modules in a professional, inclusive, and engaging manner, promoting a culture of belonging and operational excellence.
Partner crossâfunctionally with peers, leaders, and internal stakeholders to support training initiatives, hiring events, and system updates.
Perform audit of training courses, records, and personnel to support regulatory compliance and instructional consistency.
Provide feedback on performance to training staff and flight attendants through mentoring, coaching, and inflight observations.
Participate in the Duty Officer program and fly as a working crew member as needed to maintain operational readiness and training credibility.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required
2 years of experience in inflight or airline operations, including at least 1 year in training delivery, facilitation, or supporting training development.
Bachelorâs degree or an additional two years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
Proficiency in learning management systems and Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); operational knowledge of Apple products (iPad, iPhone).
Ability to complete [Company]âs initial training and IOE and remain qualified through recurrent training and hold FAA Flight Attendant certificate.
Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, meet operational needs, and fly as a working crew member as needed.
Possess a current passport with unlimited access into and out of the United States or obtain a current passport prior to the first day of class.
Ability to maintain authority and control in a dynamic learning environment.
Highly enthusiastic with exceptional facilitation, presentation, and listening skills.
Team-oriented with strong relationship-building and communication skills.
Self-starter with a proactive approach to solving unique or complex problems.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and stay focused in a fast-paced environment.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum age 21 and willing and able to serve alcohol.
Authorization to work in the U.S. and enter/exit both the U.S. and Canada.
Preferred
Inflight experience, preferably as a Flight Attendant.
Knowledge of FAA and TSA regulations.
Experience developing computer-based training, ideally using the Articulate Suite.
Experience conducting training audits or evaluations in a regulated environment.
Experience mentoring or coaching frontline employees in a training or operational setting.

Salary Range
$52,550 --- $78,850 / year
Salary Details
Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon employees. Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.
Note: We donât typically hire at the top of the range.
