Job Description:
The G650 Captain serves as Pilot-in-Command/Second-in-Company (“PIC/SIC”) and is a senior flight crew member reporting to the Director of Operations for a small, dynamic Part 135 charter operation. The 650 Captain is responsible for helping to operate the charter company at a profit and to the highest standards of the FAA. The ideal candidate will possess proven expertise as a international PIC/SIC in a G650 aircraft and management experience in Part 135 operations. The role can be based in California, New York, New Jersey or Connecticut.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess, at a minimum:
· Prior experience in management (e.g. Chief Pilot or Director of Operations) and pilot role at a Part 135 operation and meet minimum requirements of Part 119.71 for Pilot-in-Command/Second-in-Command
· Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills
· Solid business judgment and VIP service orientation
· At least 5,000 total flight hours (minimum 500 hours in G650 and at least 1500 hours in other large body Gulfstream airplanes), including significant experience in international trip planning and operations
· At least five years of experience serving as Pilot-in-Command/Second-in-Command in Part 135 Operations
· FAA Class I Medical Certification
· Dual engine helicopter experience preferred
· Interest in career advancement to Chief Pilot and/or Director of Operations in Part 135 operations
Responsibilities
· Perform Pilot-in-Command/Second-in-Command responsibilities on G650 (expectation of approximately 400 flight hours/year)
· Assist Director of Operations with hands-on management and administration of Part 135 operations
· Responsible for operating the charter company to the highest standards of the FAA
· Assist with the management of all flight operations and policies; Formulating and administering operating plans and policies with Director of Operations
· Ensuring regulatory compliance (including compliance with FAA and OSHA regulations) and compliance with company policies by crew and other company personnel (working with Directors of Maintenance & Safety)
· Assist Chief Pilot to train flight crew members; Ensuring all pilots maintain current route qualifications and receive proficiency checks as required by the FAA and the company.
· Working with Director of Operations to develop and execute strategic plan to grow charter business and manage charter sales personnel
· Maintains Airman’s Information Manual
· Assist with SMS administration
· Reviewing Charter quotes (including expenses, revenue, crew, etc.) subject to review and approval of Director of Operations/President
· Recruiting, performance evaluations, and active professional development of all crew members
· Working with Director of Maintenance to schedule applicable aircraft inspections and maintenance
· Overseeing and ensuring accuracy of company records, including maintenance and flight logs (working with Director of Operations, Director of Maintenance, Chief Pilot and other personnel)
