[Company] is seeking a Director of Maintenance based at Teterboro, NJ for aircraft operated under FAR Part 91 and Part 135.
Role Description The Director of Maintenance is responsible for overseeing all aircraft maintenance activities. This role manages maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution to ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and operational readiness of the fleet. Daily responsibilities include troubleshooting mechanical issues, approving repair work, monitoring parts inventory, and optimizing maintenance processes to minimize downtime. The role also includes participation in audits and inspections, and continuous improvement of maintenance standards and procedures.
Qualifications
FAA Airframe & Powerplant License and a high school diploma; an associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical or aviation-related field is a plus.
Extensive knowledge of aviation maintenance regulations and standards (e.g., FARs) is required. Previous Part 135 experience is preferred.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to make sound decisions under time constraints.
Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with pilots, operations staff, vendors, and regulatory authorities.
Candidates should possess strong Supervisory Skills, including team leadership, performance management, and training.
