Director of Safety, Aviation
[Company] (located at PIA) is hiring a Director of Safety in the Flight Department. Candidate must also be qualified to fly Part 135 B200 King Air.
This position operates as the Director of Safety (DOS) and as an SIC B200 King Air pilot. The DOS implements all aspects of [Company]'s internal safety policies. The DOS ensures the policies are established, communicated, implemented, audited, measured, and continuously improved for the Company and its customers. The person will fly part 135 to meet customer needs.
Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain the Company's safety polices
Be knowledgeable of all Company safety rules, regulations, and organizational standards
Enforce compliance of safety program
Manage all safety data and reports
Ensure continuous safety improvement through internal and external audits
Manage all reported hazards, risks, and incidents through corrective action
Equip personnel with services, reference materials, and ERPs regarding industrial hygiene, safety, and environment
Represent the Company and act as liaison with government agencies, regulatory authorities, insurance carriers, professional associations on safety and environmental matters
Report accident/incidents, including environmental, to appropriate agencies as required
Fly B200 King Air SIC within the Company Flight Department as needed
Maintain current pilot ratings and trainings as required
Qualifications:
Commercial Pilot Airplane
Multi-Engine Land
1,000 hours PIC
Knowledge of:
Aviation-related safety programs
Safety standards applicable to aviation operations
Accident causation and prevention theory
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Operational experience, normally achieved as a flight deck crewmember or equivalent experience in aviation management; and
Training in the following: Flight safety philosophy Decision-making process Accident prevention
The role of the DOS as advisor to senior management Risk management Accident/incident management Safety policies Emergency response planning Incident investigation
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. The employee is intermittently required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must be able to sit for an extended period of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include, close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The person must be able to use correct ergonomics to complete desk work.
Starting Pay: $15,000 base plus flight pay (flight pay DOE)
