In a nutshell: Do you have a broad Airline Operation knowledge and deep understanding of all regulatory and recommended procedures that relate to the Airport environment? This role will manage the VAA Charter Operation for Airport Operations. Working alongside Commercial and leading the global Airport teams you will ensure VAA delivers elite charter experiences aligned with the client’s requirements. A self-starter you will inspire and motivate your team to ensure customers receive a consistently great and memorable experience where safe and secure flights get customers to their destinations with bags, on time, every time. Day to day: To provide operational management at VAA airports during periods when there is no charter activity Be the point of contact for Airports in deciding the feasibility of a potential charter operation, engaging the appropriate partners to inform a decision Be the Airport SME and go-to for all parts of the business relating to Airport charter operations, providing a steer when required Assess the client’s check in requirements and engage appropriate support from within the business (Border Security, CSOS or Airport Systems) ensuring integration with any baggage systems Inform and consult with internal teams and ensure all border security requirements are met and their teams engaged, e.g. US TSA/CBP Ensure all relevant airport permits and/or landing rights are applied for and issued/approved at each applicable airport Liaise and coordinate with Procurement if contracts are required Collate all customer manifests, and upload in accordance with local and government border requirements, adhering to any applicable data security regulations Provide management and oversight at airports of charters, ensuring a presence is maintained at departures and arrivals as well as briefing crew, leading check in and the departure gates Establish and maintain strong working relationships, gaining trust with commercial, airports including non VAA, client, brokers and border agencies to act positively upon all commercial opportunities for the business. Make recommendations for improvements to systems, e.g. Airline Choice, to support the unique requirements of a charter operation Ensure that all airport operations business improvement initiatives comply with VAA policies, processes and procedures, and all Government mandated security and border procedures and industry safety standards Drive a healthy, open Safety and Security culture and ensure that Airports worldwide meet and exceed VAA standards, policies and procedures About you: Do you pride yourself on your excellent networking and relationship building abilities, attentive to all your daily operational tasks?
