The [Company] Test & Evaluation (BT&E) organization is seeking a Flight Test Operations Manager to join our team in Patuxent River, MD.
This management position is responsible for overseeing the activities of the F-18 Instrumentation and F-18 Data Labs. The selected candidate should have a knowledge of the various activities performed by instrumentation technicians and data processing personnel. The ability to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues impacting design, production, and support of products, services, or other deliverables is needed. In addition, this position requires communication with program leadership using a variety of media, to clearly convey information and ideas.
Position Responsibilities Include:
Develop and execute project and process plans, implementing policies and procedures and setting operational goals
Acquire resources for projects and processes, providing technical management of suppliers and leading process improvements
Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
Manage, develop and motivate employees
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
Experience with aircraft instrumentation systems, data systems design and acquisition
5+ years of experience managing or leading people or teams
5+ years of experience supporting a military flight test program
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience supporting Navy flight test programs
F/A-18 Flight Test Experience
Experience leading lab technicians
Experience installing instrumentation components
Good verbal and written communication skills
Good leadership skills

Summary pay range: $151,300 – $204,700
