Position Overview

The Assistant Chief Pilot plays a critical role in supporting and implementing the Chief Pilot’s objectives while ensuring seamless flight operations, pilot training, and compliance with company procedures. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented leader who thrives in both flight operations and procedural execution. The ACP will fly a regular pilot rotation while also managing training, mentorship, and operational oversight.

This role requires a balance of leadership and execution, ensuring that pilots operate safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards. The ACP must be capable of both mentoring pilots and enforcing procedures, ensuring adherence to operational expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Flight Operations & Fleet Management

• Support fleet movement and planning in collaboration with the Chief Pilot.

• Operate multi-engine aircraft (Cessna 310, Cessna 320) and assist with the transition to Cessna Caravan operations.

• Fly routine aerial survey missions across the lower 48 states and occasionally Canada (landings in Canada as needed).

• Navigate complex airspace including high-traffic corridors, restricted areas, and SFRAs while conducting survey operations.

• Manage aircraft logistics and planning, coordinating with company operations for efficient mission execution.

• Coordinate maintenance plans with the maintenance department to ensure fleet readiness.

Pilot Training & Standards

• Develop and conduct initial and recurrent training for pilots, ensuring compliance with company standards and procedures.

• Mentor and coach pilots to reinforce operational best practices and decision-making skills.

• Support low-time pilots in their professional development by expanding their knowledge of operational planning, airspace navigation, and mission execution.

• Track and enforce procedural compliance, ensuring all pilots adhere to company policies and safety protocols.

• Evaluate pilot performance during training sessions and provide structured feedback to improve skills and knowledge.

Operational Leadership & Compliance

• Act as Flight Operations Manager on Duty when needed, providing direct support to pilots in the field.

• Monitor and enforce company policies, ensuring that safety, training, and operational procedures are followed consistently.

• Handle pilot inquiries and provide procedural guidance, ensuring alignment with company expectations.

• Work in a leadership capacity within a team environment, balancing mentorship with policy enforcement.

• Participate in regular operational meetings to align flight operations with company objectives and ongoing projects.

• Support company growth initiatives, ensuring that procedures scale effectively as the organization expands.

Requirements

• FAA Commercial Pilots License

• FAA Certified Multi-Engine

• Prior Aerial Survey Experience

• Minimum of 750 hours Total Time

• Minimum of 200 hours Multi Engine Piston

• Minimum of 100 hours in type (C310)

• First Class or Second Class Medical

Preferred

• 100 hours Dual Given

• Background in Safety operations

• Management: 1 year

• Aerial Survey: 1 year

• FAA Multi Engine Instrument Flight Instructor

• 100 hours of C208 PIC
