NASA AOD is seeking a Pilot to assist with the capability to land in Baikonur, Kazakhstan in support of US Astronaut launch and landing missions. The airfield requires a Russian-speaking pilot’s presence in the cockpit. Essential Functions The applicant must be able to support a compensated quarantine period of up to 14 days before missions, and be willing to comply with NASA’s pre-deployment medical requirements (temperature monitoring/logging, etc.).The applicant’s English and Russian speaking abilities will be evaluated as part of the interview process. The position will require roughly 2 hours of ground training on aircraft systems prior to mission execution. Supervisory Responsibilities None Job Requirements Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities • Required: Fluency in speaking the English and Russian languages • Experience operating under an FAA Instrument Pilot Certificate or equivalent with an Airplane rating Qualifications • Minimum 500 hours total pilot time • Desired: Experience communicating in Russian with Air Traffic Control (ATC) • Required: Current Passport with the ability to obtain a Russian Multiple Entry Visa and Kazakhstan Visa • Desired: Current Russian Multiple Entry Visa (MEV) and Kazakhstan Visa • Must be able to pass NASA’s Qualified Non-Crewmember (QNC) medical screening requirement and complete required QNC training • Must be an American Citizen Yulista offers an excellent compensation and benefits package.
