WFLA-TV, News Channel 8, in beautiful Tampa, FL is seeking candidates for a full-time Commercial Helicopter Pilot to join our team. Ideal candidate will have type certification in a Bell 206L-3 helicopter as well as experience with news operations and daily preventative maintenance.
Required Skills / Abilities / Responsibilities:
Current FAA Commercial Pilot's License
Current FAA 2nd Class Medical
1,500 hrs. helicopter minimum total time
500+ hrs. minimum turbine time
5 years+ flying experience as PIC
3 years+ commercial, military or government helicopter experience as PIC
Local area experience preferred
Performing pre and post flight inspections of airframe, fuel, equipment and navigational systems to determine flight worthiness of aircraft; ensuring the safety and legality of flight operations.
Maintain aircraft flight records
VFR operations in Day and Night conditions
Monitoring weather conditions and communicating with air traffic control and other air traffic during flights in and around Class B airspace.
Must be able to exercise good judgment in a team environment as well as in aircraft operation and safety.
Must be willing to work in a changing news environment while in flight and on the ground.
High School Diploma or GED required
