Position Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and leadership-oriented Chief Pilot to operate and oversee a privately owned Gulfstream G150 based in Atlanta. This is a hands-on flight leadership role, focused on safe, efficient, and professional operations. The Chief Pilot will manage trip planning, flight crew coordination, and serve as the primary liaison with the aircraft owner and vendor partners. A support team handles daily hangar activity and maintenance, but the Chief Pilot plays an integral role in ensuring readiness, communication, and compliance.
Flight Profile
All flights are conducted under FAR Part 91
Typical missions take place during the workweek, with occasional weekend travel arranged in advance
Responsibilities
Serve as Pilot in Command (PIC) on all G150 flights
Lead flight department coordination, trip planning, and aircraft scheduling
Perform pre-flight planning, weather briefings, and aircraft inspections
Maintain flight logs, trip records, and FAA compliance documentation
Collaborate with the copilot and support staff to ensure aircraft readiness and passenger experience
Support administrative needs such as vendor oversight, training schedules,
and flight reporting
Communicate clearly and consistently with the aircraft owner and key stakeholders
Qualifications
Valid ATP certificate; G150 type rating preferred or willingness to obtain
Minimum 3,000 total flight hours, including 1,000+ hours in jets
Experience in a leadership or chief pilot capacity within a Part 91 operation preferred
Current FAA 1st Class Medical Certificate
Strong communication skills and commitment to professional service
Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Atlanta area
Preferred Skills
Experience with mid-size jets (G150, G200, or similar)
Familiarity with maintenance coordination and vendor relationships
Proficiency in flight planning and scheduling tools
A proactive, team-oriented mindset with a focus on operational excellence
