We are a private flight department operating under Part 91 and are seeking a Lead Pilot for our Citation XL. This is a two-jet operation with strong support, a collaborative culture, and a focus on safety, professionalism, and service.
About the Role
We are looking for the right captain to join our team. Prior Citation XL type rating and experience are preferred but not required if you bring strong jet PIC experience and the right leadership qualities. Candidates must hold a PIC type in a mid-size corporate jet or larger and meet the minimum experience requirements below.
This role requires local accessibility to Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (FXE). Candidates must be able to reliably commute by car—airline commuting is not an option.
Responsibilities
Uphold and actively promote the company’s Safety-First core value by complying with all safety policies and reporting any incidents or near-misses.
Operate Citation aircraft in a safe, efficient, and professional manner in compliance with all FAA regulations.
Manage aircraft subscription accounts and coordinate with accounting to ensure accuracy.
Conduct thorough pre-flight inspections to confirm airworthiness, aircraft appearance, and passenger comfort provisions.
Coordinate flight schedules, training events, and maintenance with flight department staff.
Oversee Citation aircraft movements in the hangar and assist with hangar operations as needed.
Maintain FAA documentation, flight logs, maintenance records, and trip expense reporting.
Communicate effectively with leadership and flight department staff regarding aircraft status and operational needs.
Assist in sourcing and coordinating additional flight personnel when required.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with multi-engine land and instrument rating.
Citation XL type rating preferred (or ability to obtain prior to employment).
FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
FCC Radio License and a valid passport.
Minimum of 3,000 total flight hours, including:
500 hours multi-engine turbine PIC
300 hours of jet experience
Strong professionalism, judgment, and customer service record.
Previous corporate aviation experience strongly preferred.
