Portland Jets Charter is an FAA Part 135 Air Carrier providing aircraft management, worldwide charter operations, and maintenance oversight for a growing fleet of business aircraft. Our fleet currently includes Pilatus, Falcon, and other turbine aircraft operating throughout the United States, Caribbean, Canada, Mexico, and South America.

We are seeking an Director of Maintenance (DOM) / Maintenance Control Manager to lead our maintenance department and ensure the continued safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance of our expanding fleet.

Position Summary

The Director of Maintenance is responsible for the overall management and control of all maintenance activities conducted under Portland Jets' FAA Part 135 Certificate. This individual will oversee maintenance planning, vendor management, regulatory compliance, aircraft inspections, maintenance tracking systems, and daily maintenance control while working closely with Flight Operations, Dispatch, and Aircraft Owners.

This is a leadership position requiring strong organizational skills, technical expertise, and the ability to manage multiple aircraft and maintenance providers simultaneously.

Primary Responsibilities

• Serve as Director of Maintenance in accordance with 14 CFR Part 119 and Part 135.

• Maintain continuous compliance with all FAA regulations, company manuals, and manufacturer maintenance programs.

• Manage daily maintenance control activities for the fleet.

• Coordinate scheduled inspections, unscheduled maintenance, AOG events, and aircraft recovery.

• Oversee CAMP/Veryon maintenance tracking and ensure all inspections remain current.

• Review and approve maintenance records, logbook entries, Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs), and maintenance releases.

• Coordinate with FAA Principal Inspectors and regulatory agencies.

• Develop maintenance budgets and monitor maintenance costs.

• Manage relationships with maintenance vendors, OEMs, and service centers.

• Coordinate warranty claims and maintenance contracts.

• Supervise maintenance personnel and contract technicians.

• Participate in Safety Management System (SMS) investigations and corrective actions.

• Support aircraft acquisitions, conformity inspections, import/export projects, and certificate additions.

• Provide technical support to owners, pilots, and company management.

• Participate in the company's on-call maintenance control rotation for AOG support.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as Director of Maintenance for an FAA Part 135 operator.

• Extensive knowledge of 14 CFR Parts 43, 91, 119, and 135.

• Strong understanding of CAMP, Veryon, or similar maintenance tracking software.

• Experience managing turbine business aircraft.

• Excellent knowledge of FAA maintenance documentation and regulatory compliance.

• Strong communication and leadership skills.

• Ability to prioritize multiple aircraft simultaneously.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office and digital maintenance systems.

Preferred Aircraft Experience

Experience with one or more of the following is highly desirable:

• Pilatus PC-24

• Dassault Falcon 900 Series

Minimum Requirements

• FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate (Required)

• IA Authorization (Preferred)

• Minimum 7 years of turbine aircraft maintenance experience

• Minimum 3 years of Part 135 maintenance management experience preferred

• Valid U.S. driver's license

• Ability to travel as required
