Job Description:
As the Second-in-Command, you will work closely with the Pilot-in-Command to ensure the success of each flight mission. You will assist with flight planning, system monitoring, and adherence to safety protocols while fostering a collaborative cockpit environment. This role is essential to achieving operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and a strong commitment to passenger safety and satisfaction.
Essential Functions
Assist the Pilot-in-Command with pre-flight planning, including weather briefings, weight and balance calculations, and flight route analysis.
Conduct pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight checks to ensure aircraft systems are functioning properly.
Monitor aircraft performance during flight and provide critical support to the PIC in decision-making.
Communicate effectively with air traffic control and other operational stakeholders.
Maintain knowledge of and compliance with FAA regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
Collaborate with the PIC to promote a culture of safety, operational excellence, and teamwork.
Assist with documentation and record-keeping, including aircraft logbooks and trip reports.
Represent the company professionally when interacting with patients, families, and the public.

Minimum Qualifications
FAA Certifications:
Commercial Pilot Certificate with an Instrument Rating or an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate; appropriate category and class ratings
Current FAA Second-Class Medical Certificate
Flight Experience:
1200 hours of total flight time preferred
800 hours of total flight time required

Pass a 135.293 check ride within the first 60 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications
Current Certified Flight Instructor – Instrument (CFI / CFII)
Live within one hour of assigned base

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, as required for handling equipment or luggage.
Tolerance for varying environmental conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, and noise during aircraft operations
