The role:
Flight Operations Line Manager
Flight Operations line managers are responsible for achieving a safe and efficient flying operation through effective and dynamic people management. With responsibility for a large fleet of c1000 flight crew, this key leadership role combines meaningful support to individuals alongside the opportunity to influence and effect change within our flying operation.
Working alongside line management colleagues from other fleets, and with the support of a team of assistant line managers, you will be directly involved in the design and implementation of flight operations key engagement initiatives in 2024.
From employment policy & regulatory compliance to exciting projects interfacing with key stakeholders, in support of operational safety & performance, we guarantee no 2 days are the same.

What youâll do:
Motivate, inspire and support the pilot workforce, providing visible leadership recognition
Define and implement a pilot engagement strategy for their fleet
Promote and highest levels of safety on their fleet with the support of the areas of Technical and Training
Enhance and promote all aspects of the Flight Crew well-being and inclusion strategy
Investigate and manage complex operational and people management issues
Monitor the operational standards of flight crew, working with the policy and duty pilot
Contribute to the departmental IR strategic agenda and actively manage local industrial issues
Ensure crew scheduling agreements are effectively managed to deliver operational resilience

Experience people managers of large operational team
Detailed knowledge and experience of Flight Operations day to day practices/ processes.
Detailed knowledge (and experience) of BA employment policies and procedures (Desirable)
Knowledge of pilot collective agreements and scheduling and rostering arrangements (Desirable)
Knowledge of the BA Operation (Desirable)
