We are seeking an experienced Pilot to join our team that operates a Citation CJ3 and CJ3+ and flies approximately 400 hours/year. The Second in Command (SIC) supports the Captain in the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft and ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work as part of a cohesive team to provide exceptional service to passengers.
Key Responsibilities
Flight Operations:
Assist the Captain in pre-flight planning, including reviewing weather conditions, flight plans, and aircraft performance.
Conduct pre-flight inspections to ensure the aircraft is airworthy and all required documentation is in order.
Operate the aircraft according to the Captain’s instructions, standard operating procedures, and aviation regulations.
Monitor aircraft systems and instruments during flight, reporting any abnormalities to the Captain.
Participate in post-flight debriefings and assist with post-flight inspections.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
Assist in emergency situations, following established protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of passengers and crew.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of aircraft systems, emergency procedures, and company regulations.
Customer Service:
Provide exceptional service to passengers, ensuring their comfort and addressing any concerns or requests.
Crew Coordination:
Communicate effectively with the Captain, flight crew, and ground personnel to ensure smooth operations.
Assist in coordinating with air traffic control and maintenance personnel as needed.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate flight logs and other required documentation.
Report any incidents, accidents, or irregularities to the appropriate authorities and company officials.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in aviation or related field preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:
Commercial Pilot Certificate (CE-525 type rating preferred)
CFI preferred
Instrument Rating.
Second Class Medical Certificate.
Valid passport with no restrictions on international travel.
FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operating Permit.
Experience:
Minimum of 1,500 hours total flight time, with at least 500 hours as a pilot in command (PIC).
Skills:
Strong knowledge of FAA regulations and aviation industry standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
Working Conditions:
Schedule: Variable hours, including weekends, holidays, and nights. Must be available for on-call duty.
Travel: Extensive travel, both domestic and international, often with short notice.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to pass a rigorous medical examination and maintain physical fitness to perform the duties of a pilot.
