We are seeking a Part-Time Pilot Training Instructor based in the Orlando area to support our pilot training program. This role is responsible for Initial and Recurrent Company indoctrination training to Northern Jet pilots, ensuring compliance, standardization, and operational excellence. This is an ideal opportunity for a seasoned pilot who enjoys mentoring, teaching, and contributing to a high-performing flight department while maintaining schedule flexibility.
This is a part-time position based in our Orlando, Florida location.
Schedule: part-time position with a maximum of 30 hours per week. Flexible scheduling based on training needs and instructor availability.
Responsibilities:
Conduct initial and recurrent training for Northern Jet pilots in accordance with company policies and FAA requirements
Reinforce Northern Jet standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety culture, and professionalism
Support the Training Department with additional training and compliance-related initiatives, including audits, documentation, and program updates
Assist with training materials, course content updates, and standardization initiatives
Collaborate with the Director of Operations, Training Department, and HR as needed
Provide constructive feedback and evaluations to support pilot development
Performs other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
Must reside in or near Orlando, FL
Minimum 5+ years of professional pilot experience flying under Part 91 and/or Part 135
Part 135 operational experience required
Prior experience as a training instructor, check airman, or mentor pilot preferred
Familiarity with adult learning principles and instructional best practices required
Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, company training standards, and best practices
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
High level of professionalism with a safety-first mindset
Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Aeronautical Science, or a related field preferred
Minimum 5+ years of professional pilot experience flying under Part 91 and/or Part 135
Part 135 operational experience required
Prior experience supporting pilot training, standardization, compliance, or safety programs preferred
Strong working knowledge of FAA regulations, training requirements, and compliance standards
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, and move about office, classroom, simulator, and hangar environments
Ability to lift and carry materials or equipment up to 25 pounds
Ability to operate computers, tablets, and training-related technology
Ability to communicate clearly in person, over the phone, and via video conferencing
Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to conduct training, review documentation, and observe pilot performance
