A rare opportunity has become available for an accomplished Captain to command a privately operated Bombardier Global Express XRS based in Melbourne.

Supporting a highly respected Australian family office, this aircraft operates extensively throughout Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Europe, North America and the Middle East, delivering world-class private aviation services with an uncompromising commitment to safety, professionalism and discretion.

This position has become available following the departure of the incumbent Captain after 14 years, reflecting the stability and professionalism of this long-established private flight department.

The Opportunity

This is not an airline position.

This role is ideally suited to an experienced corporate aviation Captain who understands the unique service standards, flexibility and professionalism required when operating within a private flight department.

Flying schedules are determined by the owner’s travel requirements and involve extensive domestic and international operations. The successful applicant should enjoy international flying and be comfortable with periods away from home, as overseas trips may range from several days to, on occasion, two to three weeks depending on operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

·       Command the Bombardier Global Express XRS on domestic and international operations.

·       Ensure the highest standards of flight safety, regulatory compliance and operational excellence.

·       Lead, mentor and support First Officers while fostering a strong safety culture.

·       Work collaboratively with maintenance providers and operational support personnel to ensure maximum aircraft availability and operational readiness.

·       Deliver an exceptional passenger experience through professionalism, discretion and attention to detail.

·       Maintain absolute confidentiality and represent the flight department with integrity at all times.

·       Promote continuous improvement in operational standards and Crew Resource Management.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

Global Express XRS experience is essential

·       Australian ATPL or ICAO ATPL transferable to CASA.

·       Current Class 1 Medical.

·       Minimum 5,000 hours total flight time.

·       Minimum 2,000 hours Pilot in Command on multi-crew turbine aircraft.

·       Extensive command experience operating large-cabin business aircraft.

·       Significant international operational experience including long-range and oceanic operations.

·       Strong working knowledge of NAT HLA, RVSM, CPDLC, FANS and international procedures.

·       Outstanding Crew Resource Management, leadership and decision-making skills.

·       Current passport with unrestricted international travel.

·       Australian Citizenship, Permanent Residency or unrestricted Australian working rights.

Highly Regarded

·       Current Bombardier Global Express XRS or Global 6000 type rating.

·       Command experience on Bombardier Global, Gulfstream, Falcon or equivalent large-cabin business aircraft.

·       Previous experience within a professional corporate, private or business aviation flight department.

·       Demonstrated experience mentoring and developing flight crew.

Important Experience Requirement

This position is specifically suited to pilots with extensive corporate, private or business aviation experience.

Applicants whose experience has been gained predominantly within commercial airline or military operations are unlikely to possess the background sought for this role.
