What Will You Be Doing?
Fulfill the requirements set forth by Federal Aviation Regulations 14 CFR § 119.65 governing flight operations under 14 CFR § Part 121. The System Chief Pilot reports directly to the Vice President of Operations and is responsible for exercising operational control in the interest of maintaining safety per the requirements of Operations Specification. The System Chief Pilot is responsible for all pilot administrative functions within the domicile.
Essential Functions
Supervise development, implementation and maintenance of all flight standards for all Frontier aircraft types.
Provide supervision for direct reports as well as all line pilots within the domicile.
Recruit, interview and select pilot flight crewmembers as required by operational requirements.
Discipline as required by company policy, FAR’s and pilot working agreement.
Pilot contract administration.
Provide liaison with FAA per all operational issues.
Maintain Flight Operations Manual, Volume I and others as required.
Assist HR in administering Frontier Pilot Drug Testing Program.
Work closely with Director of Flight Operations Training on all staffing, training and pilot qualification issues.
Work with Crew Scheduling to ensure proper qualification and FAR legality of all pilots.
Other Functions
Provide liaison with other departments as necessary to ensure safety and efficiency of flight operations.
Define duties and supervise Manager of Flight Standards, Fleet Managers and Assistant Chief Pilots
Qualifications
FAA Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with type rating in the A320 aircraft
Minimum of 3 years of experience as Pilot in Command with [Company]
Minimum of 3 years of PIC experience within the last 6 years for applicant with no previous Chief Pilot experience
Current FAA Class 1 Medical Certificate
Excellent working knowledge of pilot working agreement
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Possess excellent communication skills to include ability to speak, read and write English.
Ability to provide effective leadership to direct reports and the entire pilot group.
Ability to communicate in a professional and positive manner with all company personnel as well as outside agency representatives.
Ability to problem-solve and react positively to all types of difficult situations.
Knowledge of common desktop applications including Adobe FrameMaker.
