FIRST OFFICER OR CAPTAIN JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:
Performs all flight and collateral duties as assigned. Conducts flights in accordance with FAA rules and regulations, company policy, and IS-BAO and NBAA good operating procedures. Directly responsible for the operation, safety, and security of the aircraft as well as the safety of all passengers, crewmembers, and cargo onboard during all associated flight activities.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participates fully in the Aviation Safety Management System. Ensures safety and security of passengers and aircraft during aircraft operations.
Obtains and evaluates all available weather and applicable NOTAMs to ensure flight can be safely accomplished (go/no-go decisions).
Modifies schedule, as necessary, corresponding to existing conditions (i.e., change order of destinations, wait for improving conditions, etc.). Determines aircraft condition, mechanical status, fuel, oil, oxygen requirements, and configuration for flight requirements, ensuring that the aircraft is airworthy, duly registered, and that all required documentation and operational information is onboard the aircraft.
Ensures that dispatch requirements are within the capability of assigned aircraft. Calculates aircraft weight and balance, fuel and performance required for acceptable margins of safety, ensuring that all flight planning requirements have been met.
Utilizes experience, knowledge and training to cope with abnormal or emergency situations.
Completes all post-flight administrative requirements and duties as specified in the company operations manual recording flight times and aircraft defects.
Completes all company administrative requirements.
Completes collateral duties, as assigned, in timely and professional manner.
Jointly evaluates, with PIC, all available weather and applicable NOTAMs to ensure flight can be safely accomplished (go/no-go decisions).
Conducts preflight and postflight inspections of aircraft and reports abnormalities to PIC.
Ensures passenger manifest is correct and aircraft is properly equipped, provisioned, cleaned, fueled, and ready for flight.
Jointly ensures, with PIC, that dispatch requirements, weight and balance, fuel and performance required for flight are within the capability of assigned aircraft.
Conducts pre-flight and post-flight inspections before and after each flight, respectively.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum experience required of the position
Co-Pilot:
Bachelor's Degree in a technical or business-related field and 3+ years of flight experience as an FAA Commercial Rated Pilot conducting passenger transportation operations under Part 91, Part 135, and/or Part 121 or equivalent military flight experience. In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience is required.
1,500 hours Total Flight Time.
500 hours Turbine Time.
500 hours Multi-Engine Time.
200 hours Instrument Flight Time
Pilot:
Bachelor's Degree in a technical or business-related field and 5+ years of flight experience as an FAA Commercial Rated Pilot conducting passenger transportation operations under Part 91, Part 135, and/or Part 121 or equivalent military flight experience. In lieu of degree, 9+ years of experience is required.
2,500 hours Total Flight Time.
500 hours Turbojet PIC Time.
1,000 hours Multi-Engine Time.
250 hours Instrument Flight Time
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
Demonstrated strong working knowledge of aircraft systems and operating requirements.
Demonstrated strong knowledge of the Federal regulations and standards relating to aircraft flight operations.
Demonstrated knowledge of computer office skills in flight planning, scheduling, word processing, and expensing software.
Minimum certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position
Commercial, Multi-Engine Land, Instrument rated Pilot license.
FAA 1st Class Medical Certificate.
At least 1 Turbojet-powered airplane type rating
Experience, certificates, licenses, etc. desired for the position
Airline Transport Pilot.
Challenger 300/350 type rating or at least 1 Turbojet-powered airplane type rating
Additional professional aviation certifications and training (i.e. Certified Aircraft Manager, Aviation Safety and Security Certificate, FAA part 107 license for UAS/Drones, NBAA PDP courses, etc.)
