Currently seeking experienced Chief Pilot for our rapidly growing operation. This position is located in our Middle Tennessee offices and requires flexibility with work schedule, travel, and includes operational on-call responsibilities. As the Chief Pilot, you will play a crucial leadership role, oversee the pilot group and ensure compliance with FAA regulations, company policies, and safety standards while also flying one 8 and 6 rotation per month.
Responsibilities:
· Hires, retains and maintains a team of extraordinary Pilots
· Direct supervision of all flight crewmember activities includes providing guidance and support to flight crews, addressing any operational issues or safety concerns, and ensuring that all crew members adhere to established protocols and procedures throughout their duties.
· Educate pilots on the Company efforts and be the liaison between management and pilots fostering a cohesive environment.
· Collaboration with the Director of Operations, Maintenance, and Scheduling,
· Compliance, and Training, to ensure compliance with FAA regulations, company standards, and manuals.
· Direct flight crews in operational activities and maintain operational control.
· Ensure flight crews are appropriately trained and qualified for assigned positions and missions.
· Maintain compliance with Federal Regulations and training program requirements for all aspects of flight crew training.
· Evaluate and enhance current training programs in collaboration with the Director of Operations and Director of Training.
· Stay updated on aviation regulations, advisories, and manuals, disseminating relevant information to flight crews.
· Ensure adherence to the General Operations Manual and Procedures Documents
· While delegation of tasks is permitted, ultimate responsibility for assigned functions remains with the Chief Pilot.
· Previous experience with managing/developing a team.
· Assume additional duties as assigned, including acting as Director of Operations if necessary.
Requirements:
· Prior Chief Pilot experience in an FAR 135 Environment
· Prior experience working with the FAA
· Prior experience transitioning 9 or less to a 10 or more
· Positive “can do” attitude
· Flexible and nimble mindset
· Driven and motivated problem solver undeterred by barriers and the word “no”
· Technologically proficient in technologies such as foreflight, and app-based solutions.
Experienced pilot with:
· Airline Transport Pilot Certificate
· First-Class Medical
· More than 3,000 hours of total time
· 1,500 hours turbo jet
· CE525 and/or CE560 type rating required
· Meets the requirements of 14 CFR 119.71 without deviation
Physical Demands:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer
