We are seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee and enhance the daily operations of our Part 135 business, with a strong focus on flight operations, safety, and regulatory compliance. This role is responsible for operational efficiency, pilot management, and fleet readiness, ensuring a seamless and profitable operation.
The COO will work closely with the Director of Operations, Director of Maintenance, and Scheduling Team to maintain the highest standards in flight operations, crew leadership, and aircraft utilization. This hands-on leadership role requires a deep understanding of Part 135 regulations, pilot oversight, and operational control.
Oversee flight operations and fleet management, ensuring compliance with FAA Part 135 regulations and company policies.
Develop and implement operational strategies to improve safety, efficiency, and profitability across all departments.
Lead and manage pilots, ensuring proper training, adherence to SOPs, and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with the Director of Maintenance to ensure aircraft readiness, minimize downtime, and uphold safety standards.
Monitor and optimize flight scheduling, pilot utilization, and aircraft availability to ensure efficient operations.
Work closely with leadership to refine operational policies and procedures that enhance safety and streamline workflows.
Support pilot recruitment, training, and retention initiatives to build and maintain a strong, professional flight team.
Ensure smooth communication between dispatch, flight crews, and maintenance to enhance operational coordination.
Remain available for operational oversight in a 24/7 environment, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Experience as a COO, Director of Operations (DO), Assistant DO, Chief Pilot, or Assistant Chief Pilot within a Part 91/135 operation.
Active Part 91/135 pilot with strong leadership and operational management experience.
In-depth knowledge of FAA Part 135 regulations, pilot management, and flight operations.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and make sound operational decisions.
Energetic, self-motivated leader with an entrepreneurial mindset and a focus on safety and efficiency.
Hands-on leadership approach, willing to step in and support operations as needed.
