This job is a member of the Inflight Communications Team within the Global Engagement division.
This role develops communication for American’s 28,000+ flight attendants and the leaders who support them, including internal operational messages and external storytelling.

Develop compelling communications and strategic communications plans to inform flight attendants and other stakeholders of regulatory, operational, procedural and commercial updates, including regulatory, contractual, policies and procedures, onboard dining, entertainment and loyalty program messages.
Partner with Labor Relations and Labor Communications on communications to flight attendants relating to contract implementation and administration.
Present complicated information in a digestible way for a workforce constantly on the go.
Identify and support communications channels and processes to communicate with flight attendants as well as leadership, support staff, media and the general public.
Collaborate and coordinate with internal departments to ensure Inflight messaging is communicated strategically and cross-departmentally, as appropriate.
Uphold the integrity of the Global Engagement team by developing and maintaining strong relationships with people across the airline and serving as a strategic counselor.
Assist with crisis and media response efforts, as needed, and assume “on call” duties with regularity.
Occasionally travel to airports and other critical operational locations to support local events and storytelling opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience/training
3 years of relevant work experience in communications
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
5 years of relevant work experience in frontline employee communications, labor communications or media relations
Experience working in corporate communications or media relations for a large, multi-national organization or agency
Experience supporting a unionized workforce
Basic aviation/airline knowledge
