This position will perform flight instruction duties primarily, but not exclusively, utilizing King Air C90GTi aircraft within the flight operations department at the [Company] in Mesa, Arizona. This individual will report to the Chief Flight Instructor or their designee.
Conduct flight instruction in the King Air C90GTi aircraft utilized by the UNDAF for the High-Performance Aircraft curriculum. Instructor can expect to conduct approximately 50 turbine flight hours per month, given student and aircraft availability.
Provide flight instruction in other aircraft (Piper Archer and Seminole) and curriculum, as directed if King Air aircraft or student availability is limited.
Provide stage checks in the King Air aircraft as required, with the occasional stage checks in other aircraft and curriculum, as directed if King Air aircraft or student availability is limited.
Assist in safely conducting the flight training programs at the UNDAF Flight Training Centers using SMS principles.
Qualifications
· Commercial Pilot Certificate with instrument rating.
· CFI-Airplane with Instrument and Multi-Engine Ratings
· Current 1st or 2nd Class Medical Certificate necessary.
· Minimum 1500 hours total time, 200 hours Multi-Engine dual-given time
· Good interpersonal skills, strong customer service abilities and positive attitude.
· An individual that pays close attention to detail in maintaining records, regulations and policies.
· Willingness to work a shifted work-week to cover Saturday and Sunday and/or nights;
Desired Requirements:
· 2-year college degree in Aviation or Management related area.
· Previous management and customer service experience.
· A working knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Pysical Requirements:
Vision:
20/20 vision or better in each eye, with or without correction.
Normal color vision to identify critical lights and signals.
Near vision of 20/40 or better with or without correction.
Hearing:
The ability to hear a conversational voice from six feet away with your back turned.
Cardiovascular Health:
No disqualifying heart conditions or history of heart disease.
Regular electrocardiograms (EKGs) may be required for certain medical certificates.
Mental Health:
Stable mental state and no history of conditions like psychosis or bipolar disorder.
Other Health Factors:
Blood pressure not exceeding 155/95.
No medical conditions that cause dizziness or balance problems.
No addiction or dependence on drugs or alcohol.
Height and Weight:
Standards vary, but candidates are generally expected to be within a normal weight range.
Some jurisdictions may have specific minimum height requirements.
Importance of Medical Certification
Pilots must pass a medical exam administered by an Aviation Medical Examiner (AME).
The exam ensures fitness for flight and is a prerequisite for obtaining a medical certificate.
