The Captain (Pilot in Command) will report to the Director of Flight Operations and is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all assigned flights while ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and international regulations, as well as the policies and procedures outlined in the Company Handbook. As the Pilot in Command, the Captain has final authority and responsibility for the operation of the aircraft and is accountable for all operational decisions made during the flight.
Responsibilities of the Pilot-Captain include, but are not limited to:
Report to the Director of Flight Operations
Assist with flight planning for assigned trips
Act as head pilot on assigned trips
Assist with aircraft performance calculations and weight and balance calculations
Perform aircraft preflight inspection and preparation
Assist with weather briefings and Notices to Airmen review
Complete initial and recurrent aircraft specific training per regulations and other non-aircraft specific training
Assist with calls as directed by company to Airport Fixed Base Operations to verify fulfillment of passenger and aircraft service arrangements
Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level
Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
Fuel cost planning
Complete other duties as assigned
Qualifications of the Pilot-Captain include, but are not limited to:
High School diploma required
Ability to think quickly and make decisions in difficult situations
Capacity to remain calm under pressure
Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills
Strong attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to set priorities, multitask, meet deadlines, and resolve problems with a high sense of urgency
