The Manager of Flight Operations is responsible for coordinating and managing key elements of our private jet operations, ensuring compliance with FAA Part 91/135 regulations. This role involves oversight of crew scheduling, training program compliance, and operational support for dispatch and charter activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, knowledgeable in regulatory requirements, and committed to maintaining the high standards of safety and client service. The position location will be in the PBI (West Palm Beach) office.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance and Operations Specifications (Ops Spec)
Support the maintenance and updating of Operations Specifications (Ops Spec) to remain fully compliant with FAA Part 91 and Part 135 requirements.
Regularly review critical elements of Ops Spec, including A025, to ensure procedures align with FAA regulations and industry best practices.
Training Program Management and Compliance
Oversee training center compliance, focusing on A031 requirements, Check Airman qualifications, and adherence to Alcohol and Drug Program.
Manage training documentation and manuals, ensuring timely updates and revisions to maintain compliance with regulatory changes.
Ensure accurate tracking of all training records, including compliance reports for audits or inspections.
Crew Scheduling and Resource Allocation
Manage crew schedules, including assigning training sessions, tracking hard days off, and coordinating paid time off (PTO) to optimize operational coverage.
Coordinate contract crew assignments and oversee the onboarding process for new and contract crew members, ensuring they meet company standards and regulatory requirements.
Monitor Avianis for red flags related to crew qualifications, duty times, and operational currency, clearing issues proactively to ensure full compliance.
Dispatch and Charter Operations Support
Collaborate with dispatch and charter teams to provide efficient support for scheduled flights, addressing any operational issues or delays that arise.
Coordinate with dispatch to ensure flights are staffed with qualified crew, adjusting as necessary for last-minute scheduling changes or client requests.
Assist in managing unplanned operational disruptions and ensure efficient, client-focused solutions are implemented.
Crew Onboarding and Continuous Training
Oversee the onboarding of new crew members, ensuring completion of all required training, orientation, and regulatory compliance steps before flight duties.
Regularly review and update training programs to align with the latest regulations, safety standards, and operational requirements.
Process Improvement and Operational Efficiency
Identify opportunities for improving efficiency in crew scheduling, training, and compliance documentation to support operational excellence.
Collaborate with senior management to develop strategies for continuous operational enhancement, ensuring that safety, client satisfaction, and regulatory compliance are consistently prioritized.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in flight operations, particularly in a Part 91/135 environment, with expertise in compliance, crew management, and operational coordination.
Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, including Ops Spec, A025, A031, Check Airman requirements, and compliance protocols for drug and alcohol programs.
Experience managing training programs and crew schedules within a private or charter aviation setting.
Excellent organizational and communication skills, with a service-oriented approach to supporting both internal teams and clients.
Proficiency in Avianis or similar aviation management software.
