The Flight Operations Crew Scheduling Department seeks a motivated, customer-oriented Flight Crew Scheduling Manager. Reporting to the Manager, Crew Scheduling Standards and Training, this role involves leading a team of Pilot Training Schedulers, ensuring effective performance and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Responsibilities include interpreting regulations, coordinating staffing and training plans, fostering communication between schedulers and pilots, and supporting corporate objectives related to operational integrity, on-time performance, and financial targets.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of Pilot Training Schedulers, ensuring the effective performance of their duties.
Recruit, train, coach, and provide timely feedback to Training Schedulers to maintain high proficiency standards and adherence to SOPs.
Provide interpretation and direction on all matters pertaining to the application of the ALPA Collective Agreement, CARs regulations and monthly planning activities.
Evaluate and coordinate staffing and training plans for fleet coverage.
Maintain effective communication with key stakeholders, including Branch managers and cross-functional teams, to ensure their needs and expectations are thoroughly understood and met
Develop and foster professional and customer-friendly communication between schedulers and pilots.
Compile and regularly review key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Develop and implement contingency plans to address unexpected disruptions in scheduling or training.
Evaluate, recommend, implement, and manage scheduling processes and procedures to ensure maximum efficiency of the SIM and IOE planners.
Support corporate product and operational integrity, on-time performance, and financial targets consistent with the Collective Agreements and Flight Operations branch objectives.
Qualifications
Postgraduate degree in a related field (e.g., Business Administration, Aviation Management) or equivalent years of experience.
Minimum of 3+ years of experience in SIM or IOE planning or Crew Scheduling.
A demonstrated ability to professionally provide direction and leadership to staff members in a fast-changing environment.
A demonstrated ability to make effective decisions in an environment of high pressure and stress.
Very strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Working knowledge of Crew Scheduling systems is an asset.
The ability to deal professionally with conflictual situations.
Available to work flexible varied shift when required.
Working Knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations related to crew scheduling.
Computer proficiency in Netline and Communicator an asset.
