Role Summary
The Managing Director of Inflight Training Services sets the long-term strategy and execution of the division, and oversees the regulatory, and financial performance of Inflight training and Inflight policy and procedures at [Company]. As a people leader, this role establishes strategic goals and direction for a team of leaders to execute strategic initiatives, programs, and projects to support division or corporate objectives and labor strategy.
Key Duties
Establish strategic goals and direction for the development, implementation, maintenance, continuous improvement and execution of:
All training programs, including development, delivery, and supporting technology solutions, aligned with leadership strategies
Inflight policies, procedures, and standards
Onboard Service Delivery
Technology solutions used in inflight operations, in partnership with the Mobile Operations team.
Collaborates productively with Association of Flight Attendants (AFA) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to ensure effective training and regulatory compliance for all Inflight
Influence across company and provides strategic recommendations to enterprise leaders
Develop and deliver international training programs and services.
Develops and executes strategic initiatives, programs, and projects to support division and corporate objectives.
Develop people through effective performance management and ongoing feedback, focusing on fostering strategic and systems thinking, development of talent, and succession planning across teams and functions.
Influence across company culture through action, presence, and reinforcement of behaviors.
Partner with corporate support teams to ensure effective and consistent division communications.
Represents Inflight Services on select customer, operations, and technical steering committees.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required
10 years of progressive experience in customer service or related operational field, with time in training, policy & procedures, or inflight management.
5 years people leadership experience managing large work groups with multiple layers including developing and mentoring employees through engagement.
Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Business Management or similar discipline, or a willingness to attain a bachelor’s degree within six years of start date.
Ability to lead with passion, humility and fierce resolve and an ability to think and work beyond divisional boundaries required.
Demonstrated ability to influence change and initiate actions that have strategic impact and drive a high-performance culture.
Demonstrated commitment to clear and transparent communication.
Strong communication (e.g., verbal, written, presentation) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to create collaborative relationships that drive outcomes in the best interest of the company, with others in the organization, and with key external business partners.
Ability to develop new ideas to improve safety, compliance, efficiency, and cost.
Ability to be proactive, enthusiastic, creative, and willing to try new approaches.
Analytical and excellent problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum age of 18.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
Experience leading in a labor union environment.
Airline operations experience.
Strong SMS and compliance experience

Salary Range
$188,650 - $311,350 / year

The pay range and total target compensation package listed above is the expected pay offered for this position at the start of employment. Your pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, your relevant experience/level, experience level, and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees.
