About the Position
The Lab Test organization at [Company] designs, builds, and operates 15 state-of-the-art Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HWIL) engineering simulation labs. These labs support internal [Company] engineers who specialize in aircraft subsystems such as brakes, engines, and flight controls. Engineers use these labs to test and validate their systems before they are deployed on an actual aircraft.
Each lab is a full representation of a [Company] aircraft, allowing engineers to “fly” the system in a simulated environment. The labs integrate real aircraft controllers with a simulation platform running high‑fidelity subsystem models. Our team develops these models using MathWorks tools such as Simulink and MATLAB, then deploys them on real‑time simulation platforms (ADI, Speedgoat, NI) that interface directly with aircraft system controllers (e.g., FCS, brakes, engines).
The team also uses scripting in Python in order to facilitate the testing of aircraft interfaces, create utilities that support the lab operations, as well as create tools for our own group’s usage. You may be asked to work on a Simulink model, Python script, the real time simulation platform, or work on integration tasks between the simulation platform, simulation models and the aircraft controllers.
