Job Summary
Start-up Part 135 On-Demand Charter Operation searching for Director of Maintenance (DOM) with extensive Learjet 60 history able to work in accordance with CFR 119.71.
We are a fast-growing company seeking a candidate that will enable us to nurture our policies, procedures, safety culture, as well as maintenance and operations team. Office is located in at Fort Lauderdale International Airport.
Responsibilities
• Management of aircraft maintenance, the direct supervision of personnel, and oversight of line maintenance performed on company operated aircraft.
• Demonstrate leadership, commitment and the promotion of a safe and secure operating environment as a core value of the maintenance organization.
• Plan and utilize resources to meet operational and departmental goals and objectives.
• Ensure efficient scheduling and use of assigned resources to provide maximum, effective productivity.
• Create, oversee, and manage Line and Hangar Maintenance Operations to ensure that all maintenance facilities are operated in compliance with FAA, OSHA and EPA regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
• Responsible for providing leadership to direct staff, ensuring various teams incorporate continuous improvement methods to efficiently support maintenance production and daily operation.
• Administer and control assigned budgetary responsibilities and prepare monthly budget reports.
• Adherence to all company policies and procedures.
• Preferred flexible availability to support on-going aircraft operations.
Qualifications
• Must meet FAA minimum requirements for Director of Maintenance as outlined in CFR 119.71
• Aircraft maintenance experience with Bombardier Learjet, minimum 5 years.
• Respectable approach to working with FAA Inspectors
• Proven leadership skills with experience leading and coaching aviation team members
• Understanding of financial & budget adherence obligations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proven interpersonal communication skills between interdepartmental & senior leadership
• Familiarity with electronic flight and maintenance record systems
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite required
Responsibilities In-Depth
• Ensure compliance to all FAA maintenance regulations and requirements.
• Coordinate with the FAA when adding new aircraft and other related communications
• Communicate with flight crews, operations, and sales for a continued successful operation
• Oversee all processes of the Maintenance Departments including Maintenance Control, Parts Department, Line Station Maintenance, Technical Support, Technical Publications, Maintenance Training and Maintenance Records
• Able to develop, manage, and oversee the budget for aircraft maintenance operations across the fleet
• Foster a culture of accountability through communication of clear expectations and high-performance standards
• Coordinate maintenance events with sales and operations in a timely manner
• Assist with maintenance tasks as required. This is a hands-on position with time spent around facility working with all the departments and helping with maintenance tasks
• At times, maintenance personnel tasks will be required of the Director of Maintenance
• Ability to coach, lead and provide development opportunities for aircraft maintenance team members
• Create an inclusive and trusted environment where collaboration and communication are key
• Oversee the scheduling of aircraft repairs and maintenance while ensuring timely and quality project completion
• Promote safety throughout the organization as mandated through company policies identified by executive management
• Serve as primary FAA contact for matters regarding the Maintenance Department
• Responsible to reviewing and approving contracts related to maintenance assets and outsourced vendors
• Liaison with outside customers to ensure contractual requirements pertaining to each agreement are executed
• Familiarity with proper storage, parts identification, core return, and other parts function are critical to this role
