Compensation: $140,000 – $180,000 per year
Position Overview: [Company] is hiring a Chief Instructor to oversee all flight training operations, including Part 61 and Part 141, in partnership with Gallatin College. The successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing a student body exceeding 150 students. The chief instructor will hold responsibility for all flight training operations at Ridgeline. This includes considerations of safety, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, training standards, and positive relationships with clients, staff, and external partners. The chief instructor will be the foundation for setting the tone and culture among instructors, assistant chief instructors, and students in a professional aviation environment.
Key Responsibilities:
● Oversee all flight training operations, including Part 141 and Part 61
● Work closely with Montana State University (MSU) and [Company] leadership
● Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and Part 141 training requirements
● Supervise, mentor, and evaluate flight instructors
● Maintain and update approved training course outlines
● Monitor student progress, safety standards, and training quality
● Serve as the primary liaison with FAA representatives regarding training operations
Qualifications:
● Meets all FAA requirements for a Chief Flight Instructor as outlined in 14 CFR §141.35
● Extensive flight instruction experience
● Strong leadership and team management skills
● Excellent communication and organizational abilities
● Experience working with university aviation programs preferred
● Prefer greater than 10 years of experience in a 141 environment
